Kambaata language belongs to the Cushitic branch of the Afroasiatic family. It is closely related to other Cushitic languages like Sidamo and Hadiyya. The language is primarily spoken in the Kambaata Zone, Southern Ethiopia – southwest of Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

The recording of the Kambaata New Testament kicked off well in May. We thank God for the safe travel of the recording team from Nairobi to Addis Ababa, then to Hosaina town in Ethiopia. We are truly grateful to Mr Alem, Mr. Tekabe – Bible Society of Ethiopia, and the team for your warm reception, to coordinate the auditioning and setting up of the site recording station.

We look forward to the completion of the recording and later availing the Audio Bible to this community, to enhance the understanding of God’s Word, to encourage participation in scripture engagement, and to bring transformation for the glory of God.

We say thank you to all our partners for your prayers and support. Continue to pray for the project, the readers, the proofreaders, and the technicians for the successful recording.
