The BLG training in Noloni was special. The trainees came from different churches including Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kenya (ELCK),  East Africa Pentecostal Churches (EAPC), Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA), Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG), Methodist Church of Kenya, and Neno Church. The 18 participants came from a radius of 30kms of dusty roads. The one day training was a success which was followed by commitments by the trainees to go create and lead Bible Listening Groups.

The Noloni Evangelical Lutheran Church the venue of the training is approximately 27 feet by 13 feet. The half done walls are constructed using mud with iron sheets roofing. The traditional drum is the only the church uses during praise and worship sessions. The slanting earth floor makes it challenging to stand upright.

Edina Ramadhan, an ELCK Church member in Noloni area is the only confessing Chrisitian in her larger family, the parents, siblings, uncles, and aunties are muslims. She is determined to share and show her family the loving grace of the Lord Jesus. Edina said, going through the training and receiving the Duruma language Audio Bible has strengthened her faith. She requested prayers as she embarks on this journey.

Noloni is a village in Matuga Subconty, in Kwale County. The population comprises the Digo, Duruma and  a few Kamba. Agriculture, including fruits, livestock, and mixed farming, is the main economic activity of the communities. The county’s rivers and streams provide ample water resources, boosting its agricultural potential. Natural resources include wildlife, livestock, water, pasture, and forests. Other economic activities are fishing, mining, and commercial businesses. Rich titanium deposits are being extracted, and fishing along the coastline provides over half the household income. The county also features tourist attractions like parks, game reserves, springs, and beaches.

Generally, the wealth of this region is known to end up in a few individuals leaving the larger part of the community living in poverty. Noloni area is over 85% muslim community leaving the rest to be shared by Christians, Hindu and traditionalists.
